InsightBridge

Human-reviewed AI journaling

Human-reviewed AI journaling is guided journaling in which an AI helps you put your thoughts into words and a real person then reads what you explored and writes back to you. InsightBridge is built around this combination. It is nonclinical reflective practice, not therapy.

How it works at InsightBridge

  1. You talk with BridgeAI at your own pace. Your first session is free, and sessions have no set length.
  2. After each session you receive a summary with suggested next steps.
  3. Your assigned Insight Professional reads your conversations and writes you an Insight Letter that reflects your story back in a voice and style suited to you, with suggested next steps and a check-in on how you are finding InsightBridge. On the Basic plan the letter is monthly. On Premium it arrives twice a month, plus a monthly 20-minute live Reflection Session.
  4. Over time, Trajectory Mapping shows how your relationship to a recurring topic is changing across sessions.

Why add a person to AI journaling

Writing about what matters to you has a modest, well-documented average benefit. A 2006 meta-analysis of 146 randomized studies of disclosing thoughts and feelings about personal topics, mostly through writing, found a small but statistically significant average effect on health and wellbeing.

An AI adds responsiveness. It can ask follow-up questions at any hour. But AI-only tools have limits, and the American Psychological Association's November 2025 health advisory names several. Many chatbots tend to agree with the user, their handling of a crisis is limited and unpredictable, and they should not replace a qualified professional. The same advisory describes ongoing human review of a sample of interactions as a best practice for quality assurance.

A person in the loop is one response to those concerns. A person can read what you explored, notice themes across weeks, and write back to you as an individual. It does not make an AI tool clinical, and it does not guarantee any outcome.

What human-reviewed does not mean

  • It is not therapy, diagnosis or treatment. Insight Professionals do not provide any of these.
  • It is not instant. Human responses come through your Insight Letter and your scheduled sessions, not in real time.
  • It is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call your local emergency number. To find a crisis line in your country, visit findahelpline.com.
  • It is not unseen. Your conversations can be read by your assigned Insight Professional and by the two InsightBridge directors responsible for quality and safety.
  • It is not right for everyone. InsightBridge's Clinical Director decides when it is not appropriate for a member, and can end a membership and recommend therapy instead.

Questions

What is human-reviewed AI journaling?

Human-reviewed AI journaling is guided journaling in which an AI helps you reflect in conversation and a real person reads what you explored and writes back. At InsightBridge, the AI is BridgeAI and the person is your Insight Professional.

How is it different from an AI journaling app?

An AI journaling app gives you feedback generated by AI alone. In human-reviewed AI journaling, a person also reads your conversations and writes to you. Rosebud and Mindsera, for example, describe AI-generated feedback. The human step also costs more and is slower than AI alone.

Is InsightBridge therapy?

No. InsightBridge is nonclinical reflective practice. It does not provide therapy, diagnosis or treatment, and Insight Professionals do not act as your therapist. If you want therapy, a licensed provider is the right choice.

Who is an Insight Professional?

An Insight Professional is a human reflective practice professional assigned to you. They read your BridgeAI conversations and write your Insight Letter. On the Premium plan they also meet you for a monthly 20-minute live Reflection Session. Many come from education backgrounds. Think of an Insight Professional as a teacher whose subject is you: they help you learn about yourself. They work under the supervision of InsightBridge's Clinical Director. Current Insight Professionals hold a bachelor's or master's degree.

Why does a nonclinical service have a Clinical Director?

Because someone qualified has to keep InsightBridge nonclinical. The Clinical Director is a clinician whose job is to make sure InsightBridge stays nonclinical and nondiagnostic and does not provide therapy or treatment. The Clinical Director also knows when InsightBridge may not be appropriate for a member, and can end a membership and recommend therapy instead.

Does a person read what I say to BridgeAI?

Yes. Once you are a member, your assigned Insight Professional has access to your BridgeAI conversations and reads them to write your Insight Letter. InsightBridge's Executive Director and Clinical Director can also access full transcripts. Your free first session is different: no one reads it unless it is flagged as unsafe or you ask for it to be read.

How often will I hear from a person?

On the Basic plan you receive one Insight Letter a month, starting after your first month. On Premium you receive two a month, starting in week two, plus one live Reflection Session a month. You can always ask your Insight Professional to clarify anything in an Insight Letter, and they will always respond.

What if I am in crisis?

InsightBridge is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number now. To find a crisis line in your country, visit findahelpline.com. InsightBridge includes safety features that point you to crisis resources, and they do not replace emergency help.

How much does it cost, and can I try it first?

Basic is $79 a month and Premium is $239 a month, as of October 2026. Your first BridgeAI session is free and works the same way as a paid session.

Does journaling actually help?

On average, yes, modestly. A 2006 meta-analysis of 146 randomized studies found a small but statistically significant average benefit from writing about personal experiences. Results vary from person to person, and journaling is not a treatment for any condition.

How is InsightBridge different from using ChatGPT to journal?

General-purpose chatbots are built for many tasks. The American Psychological Association notes that they were not created to deliver mental health care. InsightBridge is built for one purpose, reflective practice, with a person reading along and crisis safeguards built in. It is still nonclinical, and it is not a substitute for professional care.
